MEMORY FILMING®
New York by Memory Filming

New York City and beyond

A wedding in New York is half choreography, half logistics.

Load-in windows, freight elevators, traffic between boroughs. We plan all of it with your planner so that on the day, the only thing anyone notices is the wedding.

One city, many communities

New York is not a single kind of South Asian wedding. It is several, often within a few subway stops of each other.

Queens alone holds Punjabi Sikh families, Bangladeshi families, and around Richmond Hill one of the largest Indo-Caribbean communities in the country, with Hindu weddings in the Guyanese and Trinidadian tradition that have their own rhythm, from the matikor to the ceremony itself. Add Manhattan ballrooms, Long Island estates, Westchester and the Hudson Valley, and the range is wider than almost anywhere else in the country.

We are a studio that has filmed South Asian weddings since 2000. For New York, the team flies in ahead of your first event and works with your planner and venue coordinators on the part most couples never see: when the crew can load in, which elevator they use, how long the drive between the ceremony and the reception actually takes on a Saturday.

We have no New York office. We plan as though we did.

What New York weddings ask for

The practical details that decide whether the day runs on time.

  • 01

    Manhattan load-in and venue rules

Many city venues set strict load-in windows, use freight elevators for vendors and may have union requirements for certain work. We get the rules from the venue coordinator in writing and build the schedule around them.

  • 02

    Portraits in public places

Some parks, streets and landmarks need a permit or have their own rules for photography. We check what applies to your locations before the day rather than finding out from a security guard.

  • 03

    Travel time between events

Ceremony in one borough and reception in another is common. We plan crew movement so that someone is always at the next location before the couple arrives.

  • 04

    Indo-Caribbean Hindu weddings

Guyanese and Trinidadian Hindu traditions differ from Indian ones in music, ritual and order. We prepare for the specific ceremony your family is holding.

  • 05

    Bangladeshi and Punjabi Sikh weddings

Gaye holud, Anand Karaj, a walima or a reception. Each needs its own approach to light, space and family customs.

  • 06

    Outside the city

Long Island, Westchester and the Hudson Valley bring daylight, open grounds and longer drives. The coverage plan changes accordingly.

Coverage for New York

Planned around the logistics of the city as much as the events.

We don't publish prices, because no two multi-day weddings are the same. Tell us your date, your city and how many events you are planning, and we will send an itemized quote with nothing to decode.

Questions

Before you ask.

Our Manhattan venue has strict load-in rules. Can you work with that?

Yes. We ask your venue coordinator for the vendor guidelines early, including load-in windows, elevator access and any union requirements, and plan our crew and equipment around them.

Can we do portraits in a park or on the street?

Usually, with planning. Some public locations in New York require a permit or have specific rules for photography, so we check your chosen spots in advance and suggest alternatives where needed.

Do you film Indo-Caribbean Hindu weddings?

Yes. Guyanese and Trinidadian Hindu weddings have their own order and customs, and we prepare for the specific ceremony your family and your pandit are planning rather than assuming an Indian format.

Our events are in Queens and Long Island. Is that one booking?

Yes. One team covers every event wherever it falls, and we plan travel time between them as part of the schedule.

How far ahead do you arrive?

The team flies in ahead of the first event so we can walk the spaces and meet your planner.
