San Francisco Bay Area
Anand Karaj in the morning. Wine country by evening.
Bay Area weddings move between very different places and very different light. We plan for fog, distance and the traditions of both families.
Many traditions, often in one wedding
The Bay Area is home to a significant Sikh and Punjabi population, especially around Fremont and the South Bay, alongside Telugu and Tamil families who came with the technology industry.
That mix shows up in the weddings. An Anand Karaj with the four laavan, a Telugu ceremony with its own sacred moments, a Tamil wedding where the thali is tied in an instant. Many couples here bring two traditions together, or a South Asian tradition and a Western one, and want both honored rather than blended into something generic.
The geography adds its own layer. Fog can sit over the coast while the inland valleys are bright and hot. Wine country in Napa and Sonoma offers vineyards and long golden evenings, the coast offers drama, and the drive between them is rarely short.
Memory Filming has filmed South Asian weddings since 2000. For a Bay Area wedding, the team flies in ahead of the first event and plans every location, timing and transition with your planner and venue coordinators.
What Bay Area weddings ask for
Culture, geography and light, planned together.
- 01
The Anand Karaj
The four laavan around the Guru Granth Sahib, covered with respect for the setting. Head coverings, positioning and what is permitted are agreed in advance.
- 02
Telugu and Tamil ceremonies
Different rituals, different key moments. We prepare for the order your family and priest are following so nothing important is missed.
- 03
Fusion and mixed weddings
Two traditions in one weekend, or in one afternoon. We plan coverage that gives each its full weight.
- 04
Fog and microclimates
A foggy morning on the coast and a bright afternoon inland can happen on the same day. We plan portraits and outdoor moments around the conditions you are likely to have at each location.
- 05
Wine country and coastal venues
Vineyards and coastal properties often have end times for amplified sound and rules on vendor access. We confirm them with the venue coordinator and plan the evening around them.
- 06
Distance between events
Fremont to Napa or San Jose to the coast is a real drive. We plan crew movement so that someone is always ahead of you.

Questions
Before you ask.
What if fog rolls in during our outdoor portraits?
Fog is common near the coast and can change quickly. We plan a second portrait location or time inland, and fog itself can make beautiful, soft photographs if we are ready for it.
Do you film weddings in Napa and Sonoma?
Yes. Wine-country venues often have strict end times for amplified sound and specific vendor rules, so we confirm those with your venue coordinator and plan the evening coverage around them.
Can you cover an Anand Karaj respectfully?
Yes. We follow the customs of the gurdwara your family has chosen, including head coverings and where the team can stand, and agree any restrictions in advance.
We are combining a Sikh and a Telugu ceremony. Can one team do both?
Yes. We prepare for both orders of ceremony and plan the coverage so each tradition gets its full weight, whether they are on the same day or across a weekend.
How far ahead do you arrive for a Bay Area wedding?
The team flies in ahead of the first event to walk each location and meet your planner.
