Houston and Fort Bend County
Mehndi, nikkah, walima. Three events, one team, Texas heat.
Houston weddings are long, generous and often outdoors for at least part of the weekend. We plan for the heat and the season as carefully as the ceremony.
A city of large, close communities
Houston has some of the largest Pakistani and Indian communities in the United States, spread across Sugar Land, Katy, Pearland and the rest of the metro.
Many of the weddings we are asked about here are Muslim weddings across several events: a dholki or mehndi full of song, a nikkah that is over in minutes and matters more than anything else that weekend, and a walima where both families finally sit down together. Houston is also home to large Telugu and Tamil families, and their ceremonies bring entirely different rituals and timings.
We have filmed South Asian weddings since 2000. For Houston, the team flies in before your first event and works with your planner and venue coordinators on the specifics of the city: which part of the day can realistically be outdoors, where the cool-down spaces are, and what happens if the forecast changes.
There is no Houston office. There is a team that has planned around weather on several continents.
What Houston weddings ask for
Culture and climate, planned together.
- 01
The nikkah, handled quietly
Long lenses, no flash, no one repositioned. What is permitted during the ceremony is agreed in advance with the officiant and the family.
- 02
Mehndi and dholki nights
Color, music and long hours. We cover performances and the quieter moments at the edges of the room.
- 03
Walima and reception
Often the largest event of the weekend. We size the crew to the guest count so both families are covered fully.
- 04
Heat and humidity
Outdoor portraits are planned for early morning or the last hour before sunset. Cameras moving from air conditioning into humid air fog up, so we acclimatize gear before the moments that cannot wait.
- 05
Hurricane season contingency
Atlantic hurricane season runs from June through November. For weddings in that window, we agree indoor alternatives and a communication plan with your planner in advance.
- 06
Women on the team
For bridal preparation or a segregated event, a female photographer or videographer is arranged as part of the booking.

Questions
Before you ask.
Our wedding is during hurricane season. What happens if a storm comes?
We plan for it. For weddings between June and November, we agree indoor options and a communication plan with your planner ahead of time. If a named storm disrupts flights or forces a change of date, we work through the next steps with you and your planner, and your contract sets out how a date change is handled.
We want outdoor portraits, but it will be very hot. When should we do them?
Early morning or the last hour before sunset gives softer light and is far more comfortable for you and your families. We build that into the timeline rather than squeezing portraits into midday.
Can you photograph the nikkah without disturbing it?
Yes. We use long lenses from a respectful distance, no flash, and we agree with the officiant and your family beforehand what is permitted.
Can we have a female photographer for the bridal side?
Yes. A woman on the team can be arranged for bridal preparation or a segregated event. Tell us at the inquiry stage so it is part of the plan.
Do you film Telugu and Tamil weddings in Houston?
Yes. South Indian ceremonies follow different rituals and timings, from the muhurtham to the tying of the mangalsutra or thali, and we prepare for the specific order your family is following.
