Engagement & pre-wedding by Memory Filming

Engagement and pre-wedding

Time with the two of you, before the wedding weekend.

No timeline and no guest list, just a few relaxed hours, which is why the photographs end up looking like you.

What the session involves

A dedicated shoot of two to four hours, separate from the wedding itself, unscripted and focused entirely on you as a couple.

A wedding weekend is fast, packed and full of people watching. An engagement session is the opposite. You choose the setting, the outfits and the mood, and nobody is waiting on you to finish.

We make portraits somewhere that means something to you, capture the details of your clothing, and pay most attention to the unplanned moments in between, which is usually where the favorite images come from.

There is a practical benefit too. It is your first time in front of our cameras, so by the wedding you are familiar with our approach and we have already seen how you interact. Nothing else you do in advance improves the wedding coverage as much.

What couples use it for

The photographs are only part of it.

  • 01

    Save-the-dates and your wedding website

Images composed for stationery, your website and your announcement, not cropped from something meant for another purpose.

  • 02

    Getting used to the camera

Your first session in front of us has no guests watching and no clock running. Most couples expect to be awkward and end up enjoying it.

  • 03

    Showing off the outfits

If you are wearing traditional clothes, this is the time to photograph the fabric, the embroidery and the jewelry properly rather than in a spare minute on the wedding day.

  • 04

    A place that is yours

Where you met, the park you walk every weekend, a spot tied to your family's story. Portraits rooted in somewhere that matters to you.

  • 05

    Something to share now

A set of images ready for social media and family group chats, delivered well before the wedding photos.

  • 06

    Getting to know you

We see how you move together, your better angles and what makes you laugh, and bring all of it to the wedding weekend.

Session options

Choose based on what you want to come away with. Pre-wedding sessions in the US are usually arranged around your wedding weekend, while the team is already traveling to you. A separate trip can also be arranged, with the travel set out in your quote.

We don't publish prices, because no two multi-day weddings are the same. Tell us your date, your city and how many events you are planning, and we will send an itemized quote with nothing to decode.

Why book the session with us

It gives you photographs and a rehearsal at the same time.

  • We know how traditional clothing photographs

A saree, a lehenga, a sherwani and a kurta each drape and reflect light differently, and jewelry has to sit just right in the frame. That knowledge is what makes an outfit look its best rather than merely recorded.

  • We do not over-direct

We wait for the genuine moments between you instead of staging them. Most camera-shy couples are not shy of the lens; they dislike being micromanaged.

Questions

Before you ask.

When should we schedule it?

About a month to six weeks ahead of the wedding is ideal. Go earlier if the photos are destined for save-the-dates.

How would a pre-wedding session in the US work?

Pre-wedding sessions in the US are usually arranged around your wedding weekend, while the team is already traveling to you. A separate trip can also be arranged, with the travel set out in your quote.

We are not comfortable on camera. Will this be painful?

Nearly every couple says that at the start. A private session without guests or a timetable is a completely different experience from the wedding itself, and most couples have relaxed within the first hour. Getting there before the big day is exactly the point.

Could we fit this into the wedding weekend instead?

You could, but the wedding weekend is the hardest time to do it. The schedule is tight, everyone needs you, and portraits squeezed in between events tend to show it. A separate session produces better photos and lightens the weekend.

What happens if the weather is bad?

We plan an indoor alternative from the start so the session can still go ahead. If the weather rules out both, we move the session to another day while the team is with you, or agree a new date.

Can we use the photos for our invitations?

Yes. Stationery is a top reason couples book an engagement session, and the files belong to you.
